The essentials.

01

Getting here

Thessaloniki “Makedonia” Airport (SKG) has direct flights to many European cities. From the airport, a taxi or bus takes you into the city centre.

02

Getting around

Central Thessaloniki is easy to explore on foot. The city has a metro, an extensive bus network and taxis, while ride-hailing apps are also available.

03

Sightseeing

The White Tower, New Waterfront, Aristotelous Square, Rotunda and Upper Town make an easy route for getting to know the city.

04

Food

Thessaloniki is widely considered Greece’s culinary capital: bougatsa for breakfast, meze in Ladadika and seafood along the waterfront.

05

Nightlife

Bars and hangouts in Ladadika and Valaoritou, cafés along the New Waterfront. The city wakes up late and goes to sleep even later.

06
